Event Description

Welcome to the Farm!

This event will begin with a discussion in the woolshed (seating provided), covering why the Auckland Council Farms, what animals we farm - including facts and figures, and give you all an opportunity to ask any questions. We will shear a sheep and press a bale of wool. We will demonstrate sheep handling and cattle handling in the yards. Following this, there is the option of a self guided walk and picnic. Full toilet and hand washing facilities are provided.

The day will be run in two sessions, so either, arrive ready for the first session at 10am till 12pm, or come along for the afternoon session starting at 1pm till 3pm. Ambury is a family friendly event.

If you like you can always make a day of it, bring your bikes and enjoy the bike tracks, use our free bbq’s, bring a picnic lunch, visit the friendly farm animals, relax under a tree, take the foreshore walk.

We do have drinking fountains, however bring a bottle of water, fully enclosed foot wear and a hat. Please note there are no dogs allowed on the farm, so leave you dog at home please.
