Avonstour Island
Event Description

Avonstour Island has been evolving on this property for 23 years. The evolution process is ongoing. Visitors will see improvements and changes each time they visit. The plan is that the property is set up as a self-sufficient unit providing courses and education to the public. Visitors will see some of the rarest livestock in New Zealand. We have been called the seedsavers of livestock.

On the property is also heritage trees and orchards and we are strongly connected to heritage and heirloom plantgrowers. We support historic country crafts and activities and hope this area will grow as we evolve.
On the day we will encourage the public to do farm walks and view the various livestock breeds. There will be a petting area where the public can both feed and pet the animals. Pony and small train rides will be available for children.

We have some diverse stalls booked in which include the following and more: Photography, wood and shell craft, art, pottery, kombucha, local produce, antiques and collectables, skulls, honey and more.
There will be also a barbeque, live music, karaoke, archery, vintage machinery, harness making, working donkeys and chickens and livestock for sale.
Free entry but please bring cash for the rides and stalls.

We would love to see all of you and your family and friends. 25 minutes from Stratford, sign posted from Douglas to make it easy. See you on the 21st Feb
